Vehicle Routing Problems are a classic in Operations Research. However, our students had to confront with variations that made the problem pretty hard to optimize : heterogeneous fleet of vehicles, picking up the products from multiple warehouses, non-constant picking times that depend on the route itself, etc.

What is the Challenge Javeriana ?

A one month long competition between our industrial engineering students. Each student has to design and develop a software based on Optimization and Artificial Intelligence techniques to automatically solve a business decision making problem. 
The challenge is always based on real data provided by a real company.

Our track record

So far and after more than 10 challenges, our students' best algorithms consistently found solutions 20% to 90% better than the companies' human-based solutions.
